CiaraThe albulm cover uses the artist as the model, this allows the audience to reconignise the artist and therefore feel more confident when buying the alulbm as they will have knwoledge on what genre the songs will be, this allows them to choose the correct albulm for their choice in music. Also by having the artist for the model on the albulm cover it will increase sales as the artist will be well known and therefore reconisged.
The artist does follow the convention of R&B genre this is due to the costume and body language of the artist. From research on R&B i have reconised the pattern on codes and conventions through the R&M/Soul genre. The key elements of portraying this partcicular genre consists of limited clothes to show a lot of skin which creates a sexy appeal to the audience widening the demographic audience, slim and toned figure to also compliement beauty and physique this also helps widen the traget audience from not just females as the artist is female therefore it allow s audiences to relate to the artist, but it also creates a connection to the male audience as from the dominant ideology from Maxis theory it suggests that women are just 'eyecandy' for men therefore the more a women figure looks seductive the more the male audience will connect to the artist increasing sales.
The colours used within the albulm cover consist of two main colours including white and grey this colours are binary opposites to each other therefore they connote opposite meanings sending out a variety of messages to the audience.
The colour white connotes innocence and purioty where as the colour grey connotes mystery, style and elegance therefore portraying different aspects of the artists personality appealing to a wide audience.

As the artist is wearing glasses it almost makes her mysterious as she is covering her eyes which are meant to symoblise 'the window to the soul' therefore if the eyes are hiden then a mystery is opened to what the artist is feeling.
Her Left shoulder is shown more forward than the other shoulder positioning her in a relaxed, confident stance. With her shoulder being bare it symoblises seduction and sexyness which corresponds with the wind effect blowing her hair this creates a sexy feel. This also links with the body language of the artist as she is looking over her shoulder.
As the position of the camera is at a low angle we as the audience are left looking up at the artist this connotes importance and dominance suggesting that she is the main artist which is also shown by her in the near centre of the frame also creating importance.
The artists name is presented in a less formal font to the title of the album which allows her name "Ciara" to stand out more then the title which allows her to be remembered and reconised. The name of the artist and the name of the album are both in a silver coloured font this connotes modern and stylish, it also connotes a positive atribute which allows the audience to feel a positive sentiment asembeling them to connect with the artist and album cover.
